The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service recently announced that they are extending the federal income tax filing due date for the 2020 tax year from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021. This extension will provide relief for some but not all taxpayers.

Our tax team has provided answers to the most common questions we are receiving from clients below. In addition, we launched a LIVE TRACKING SCHEDULE for Federal and State 2020 Tax Returns and 2021 Q1 Estimate Payment deadlines, which we will update in real time as more information becomes available.

Tax Planning News, Articles & Planning Strategies

Year-end planning takes place against the backdrop of the continued release of guidance on the landmark Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) as well as the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and the Coronavirus Aide, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, enacted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which changed some of the TCJA provisions for 2020.

While there is no one-size-fits-all approach to tax planning, we have launched a Year-End Tax Planning and Resource Center in order to address the major tax changes and questions we are receiving from clients.
